For the creative and adventurous couple, or smaller and more casual events—this can be a great way for you to add your personal touch while keeping costs low. Stems sold by the bucket—filled by us, picked up by you the morning of or evening before your event. Each bucket is $100, contains a minimum of 60 stems and includes both flowers and foliage according to your specified wedding color palette.

We wake early the morning of your event (or eve of your event if necessary) to harvest, so we can choose flowers at their seasonal peak and ensure they’re maximally fresh when you receive them. A DIY package affords you total creative freedom to display your flowers during your event exactly as you want: you receive beautiful, farm-fresh flowers with minimal impact on the planet and your wallet. It also means flowers can be ordered at nearly any time; if you’ve suddenly decided to take the plunge but don’t want to plunge into debt with a lavish ceremony—or just need flowers for your spur of the moment event a fortnight hence—you can still have beautiful event florals, posthaste!

Essential information before you place an order:

  • Stems sold by the bucket—filled by us, picked up by you the morning of or evening before your event. Each bucket is $100, contains a minimum of 60 stems (we always include some extras in the case of breakage during designing) and includes both flowers and foliage. You can expect a ratio of 1/3 foliage & 2/3 flowers. Please note: We do not offer buckets of entirely flowers without foliage in our DIY packages, and flowers chosen are strictly grower’s choice.

  • When you order your buckets you will be able to specify your event’s designated color palette, however, you will not be able to pick out specific flowers. Because we work seasonally & flower availability changes on a weekly basis, we will be cutting whichever flowers in your palette are looking beautiful, healthy & ready for harvest based on your event date. You can always put a special note letting us know a flower you really hate, or one you adore and we’ll try our best to accommodate. However, we do not guarantee any specific flowers will be included. While we cannot guarantee that any particular flower or color will be available for DIY flowers, dedicated plots always have beautiful “bridal-worthy” flowers growing for our DIYers—and the impetuously engaged.

  • No, buckets are loose stems only; vases, vessels &c. are not included.

  • DIY buckets are PICK UP ONLY from our studio in Manchester, MI. If you have your own buckets—fantastic! Please bring those when picking up your order we’ll fill them with your fresh stems. If you don't have buckets of your own, no worries—we have some you can borrow! For ecological reasons: we do place an additional fully-refundable $10 deposit per bucket that will be returned when you them back; this ensures that we do not have to routinely replace & repurchase excessive plastic.

  • Not for DIY. As the name implies, you will be responsible for all of the heavy lifting after we harvest your flowers. It may seem obvious, but: DIY is a lot of work! Although we pick and condition the flowers, you will be responsible for everything else: picking them up, providing your own vessels,
    ribbons, pins, etc. for making your own arrangements and bouquets, corsages, etc.

  • Flower math can be hard! If you’re not sure how many buckets you need, here are some general guidelines:

    -        Bud vases, 3-4 stems each (15 to 20 per bucket)

    -        Small/medium centerpieces 15 to 20 stems each (3 to 4 per bucket)

    -        Expect to use a minimum of 30 stems for a small bridal bouquet (however, we recommend ordering one bucket for a bridal bouquet to ensure you have plenty of choice.)

    These are just general guidelines; keep in mind that quantities can vary based on your own aesthetic preferences, vase sizes &c. We always recommend ordering more than you think you’ll need—some will inevitably break during arranging; besides—no one has ever regretted having too many flowers!

  • Yes, one bucket or $100.

  • There is a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for DIY orders; however, the more notice we have, the better we can plan for your day, and the more likely we’ll be able to meet your design criteria.

  • Once we have received your order request, we’ll reach out via e-mail to let you know if your date is available. If so, we’ll coordinate pick up time & day with you from there.

  • Once your order is approved, we require a 50% deposit to officially secure your date. PLEASE NOTE: Your date/order is not secured until deposit payment is received and confirmed by us. If you placed an order for stems, but have not paid your deposit then your order will not be fufilled, even if we have reached out letting you know your date is available. The remaining 50% of your balance is due at the time of pick up, but you are welcome to pay in full at any time - keeping in mind we do not offer full refunds in any event for any reason. Please see “can I change or cancel my order” below for more info on refunds.

  • We accept cash, personal check, and credit/debit cards.

    Please note: for credit/debit card payments there is an additonal 3.3% + $0.30 processing fee required.

  • Certainly— here’s the fine print:

    • Additional buckets may be added to your order at any time up until 72 hours before your event.

    • If you need to reduce the quantity of your buckets, you may do so at any time. However we do not offer full refunds, we can issue a 50% refund up until a week before your event. Any reduction after a week’s notice, we do not offer any refunds.

    • To completely cancel your order, you may notify us at any time keeping in mind we do not offer full refunds of any kind. You have until 2 weeks before the event to cancel an order and retain a 50% refund. Any cancellations after that will not result in a refund of any amount.

    We are fully aware that these cancellation policies may seem a bit extreme and frustrating to some folks, and we hear you. We’d like to offer a gentle reminder that we are a tiny, tiny business. In an ideal world, we’d offer full refunds, no questions asked. However, in reality we are a independent, one-woman owned and operated business with very tight farm margins and very high expense. To allow us to keep providing exceptional services & products, our policy must be firm. We do understand that things happen, which is why we will always accommodate with refunds as best we can for our clients, and as always we appreciate your understanding.
